In early trading on Thursday, shares of CSX topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 16.8%. Year to date, CSX registers a 19.8% gain.

And the worst performing Nasdaq 100 component thus far on the day is Cerner, trading down 1.1%. Cerner is showing a gain of 9.1% looking at the year to date performance.
